Les Mis Ch 9

According to Dr. Preston, there was more foreshadowing in this chapter. At this point, I believe the foreshadowing is pointing to there being a robbery or break in, even possibly a murder, at the Bishop's residence. I have come to this conclusion because first it was pointed out that the doors are never looked at the bishop's residence. Next, it was pointed out that the bishop's most prized possession is his silverware. Lastly, in this chapter, in the madame's letter, she points out that the devil could come in but God dwells there so she is not worried but she also mentions that if the bishop dies she will die as well.
